SPF should be worn every day of the year to protect our skin from dangerous UVA and UVB rays. However, in summer the sun’s rays are much more powerful and sun cream is a must. So, while enjoying the summer weather make sure to apply your SPF regularly. The higher the SPF is in the sun cream the more protection you get, so when shopping for sun cream you should look for SPF 30 or SPF 50.

A new sun warning flag

A sun warning flag is a type of flag that is used to indicate the level of UV radiation and the risk of sunburn or other skin damage. The flags are typically colour-coded to indicate the risk level, with green indicating low risk, yellow indicating moderate risk, orange indicating high risk, and red indicating very high risk.

However, a new sun warning flag has now been submitted to the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) in order for it to be implemented worldwide. This new black flag (high skin cancer hazard) is now erected when the UV Index reaches critical levels.

The new flag features an eye-catching black-on-black design: an iconic black sun on a black flag, the iridescent aura of the black melanoma sun shows the colour code of the United Nations World Health Organization (WHO) UV index, the international standard measurement of the strength of the sunburn-producing UV radiation since 1994.
