Step 1: Cheap flights and the best time to go

  • Beach holiday? Go between April and October for warm waters and clear skies. ( We went in early April and spent the whole time sunbathing and swimming).

  • Hiking or exploring? Try March to May or September to November – fewer crowds, mild weather.

  • Avoiding tourists? Skip Easter, Christmas, and August.

  • Look for budget flights with airlines like Ryanair, easyJet, or Vueling. Booking 2–3 months in advance usually guarantees the best deals ( we got deal 60 euro both ways : Barcelona- South Tenerife).

Step 2: Choose the Right Area to Stay

  • South (Playa de las Américas, Costa Adeje): Best for beaches, nightlife, and family resorts (checked !)

  • North (Puerto de la Cruz, La Orotava): Perfect for culture, nature, and a quieter atmosphere

  • Central (Teide National Park): Ideal for nature lovers and hikers

Step 3: Pack wisely

  • Light clothes, a jacket for cooler evenings

  • Good walking shoes or hiking boots

  • Sunscreen (even in winter)

  • Swimsuit and beach towel

  • medicine

Useful tips and things you didn’t know  (from my expeirence):

  • Learn a few Spanish phrases – locals appreciate it!

  • Put a lot of sunscream even if you are not the person who easily get sunburnt. The sun there is really strong and different , can cause really serious harms.

  • If you got sunburnt and you have few more days coming on your holidays- get ASAP aloe cream. They are literally in every shop for 2-3 euro and do magic, you will feel on other day like newborn.
  • If you planning on trying one of popular attractions , don’t buy in the first stand, which will appear your eyes. Go and check a couple of them. Really often they offer different prices for exactly same attraction. Check more places and get the cheapest one (wallet friendly).
  • Don’t drink tap water.
