Spring is just around the corner, and you may want some inspiration on what to wear. This season has lots of fashion trends that are making a comeback, from 2000s mini (or almost micro) skirts to crochet, the catwalk is your magazine. Let’s do a rundown of the spring/summer 2022 trends.
1. Mini skirts
What goes around comes back around –and so did the 2000s with their teenie-tiny skirts. They seem to be the hit of the catwalk for Miu Miu, along with Emilio Pucci, Balmain many others during their spring/summer 2022 collection.

2. See-through
Leave little room for the imagination this summer by strutting around town with a sheer top or dress on. This is a fashion trend for the daring, as seen during Acne Studios, Coperni, and Rick Owens shows.

3. Tears and skin cut-outs
After a winter full of layering, showing skin seems to be the running fashion trend for this summer. Alberta Ferretti, Ludovic de Saint Sernin and David Koma, among many others have shown many pieces with pieces cut out of the clothing, strings, and tears. Channel your outer Maddy Perez from Euphoria with this trend this summer.

8. Shine
Your next going-out look won’t be complete without a load of sparkles. Whether it is silver sequins, embroidered crystals, colourful sparkles or sparkly mesh, you are the sun this summer, and you reflect it. As showcased by Georgio Armani, Michael Kors, Christian Dior, Rodarte, and many more.

9. Blazers
The jacket that makes any woman feel powerful continues to be a showstopper. Shown on runways paired with shorts, skirts, or a flowy dress, they are the probably the most indispensable clothing piece of the year. Following Saint Laurent, Miu Miu, Givenchy, Versace and many more big fashion houses, everyone could use a blazer.

10. Maxi skirts
Following the Y2K trend, maxi skirts are also back in. Worn during the Dior, Gabriella Heast and Givenchy shows (just to name a few), this fashion trend definitely looks like a clothing piece that’s here to stay. Often paired with a crop or bralette top, if you’re not into the micro skirts, this one might be for you!

Inspiration for trends can come from anywhere, the past, people you see on the street, celebrities, etc. and the runway has given us a lot to work with this year, but don’t forget to just have fun with fashion while also making mindful purchases. Trends only last so long, but what goes around comes back around, so who knows what next season’s fashion trends will be?
