As the Mobile World Congress 2020 (MWC) got cancelled due to the coronavirus, some of the biggest companies missed the opportunity to present their newest inventions in one of the major international technology fairs. The following are 5 products that could not get introduced at the MWC.

Nokia 9.2 PureView

Rumors say that the Nokia 9.2 PureView was supposed to be presented at MWC. The Finnish company HMD Global, which develops smartphones under the Nokia brand, had originally planned to launch the 9.1 version in the second quarter of 2020. However, the plans for that smartphone version were cancelled. Allegedly the manufacturer is now working on the 9.2 generation.

After the Nokia 9 PureView was not not very successful, according to notebookcheck.net, the Nokia 9.2 PureView is said to be technically revised. The highly praised special camera functions of the previous version are also to be simplified. Interestingengineering.com reports that the smartphone will be available for 799 US-Dollars. HMD Global has not yet officially confirmed this information.

Huawei MATE Xs

As the Huawei Mate X was launched at the MWC last year, it is very likely that the Chinese company planned to launch its next version, the Huawei Mate Xs, this year. Just like its predecessor, it is particularly standing out because of its special Falcon Wing design. That means that the display can be folded in the middle. The company says that the hinge of the new version is supposed to last longer then the previous version’s one. You can divide the eight-inch wide display into two windows and work in two apps at the same time. In addition, the camera options have been revised: The main camera with 40 megapixels now also has a wide-angle function. There is also a telephoto lens, an ultra wide angle lens and a depth sensor.

Since the government of the United States has banned US companies from cooperating with Huawei in the context of the trade conflict with China, the Mate Xs cannot use Google services. Huawei has now developed the in-house Huawei Mobile Services as a replacement. The innovative smartphone should appear on the market from mid-March. The price is initially 2,499 euros.

LG G8X ThinQ Dual Screen

LG, a South Korean multinational electronics company, was supposed to present a new mobile phone at the MWC. It is called LG G8X ThinQ Dual Screen and it has one particular characteristic, which is stated in its name: it comes with a dual screen. The brand primarily wants to make multitasking an easier job for the user, using the hashtag #DualtheBetter to state that a dual screen actually makes your life better.

Even though it has two screens, consumers are free to use one or both at any time, by simply detaching the second screen when desired. That is, LG offers a regular phone with the benefit of an extra touchscreen that allows the buyer to do more at once, like texting someone while watching a video. However, some of the critics that this device might encounter is the added heaviness and volume, and the fact that consumers will have to use both hands in order to hold the two screens.

Sony Xperia 2

The Japanese multinational conglomerate corporation Sony has launched another Xperia model: Sony Xperia 5. It comes in four different colors, which are black, grey, blue and red, and it comes with a triple headed camera lens, a popular characteristic nowadays that helps users take good quality shots in all kinds of angles.

It also comes with the sound reproduction of Dolby Atmos, widely used in cinema markets, in order to create a cinematographic experience. As well as LG G8X ThinQ Dual Screen, this mobile phone also enables consumers to multi-task. The difference is that this one does not need a complementary screen but two different windows in the same display with which the user can interact at the same time.

Samsung Galaxy Fold 2

Samsung, again a South Korean multinational conglomerate, has recently launched one of its newest devices, the Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra. It is characterized by two elements: a 100x camera zoom and an installed 5G modem.

It resists up to 1.5 meters of water for 30 minutes and it also comes with an eye-care monitor that helps prevent visual fatigue and sleep alterations through a reduction of the blue light that still maintains the colors. So far, this is the biggest model that the company has launched: it has a 6.9 inches display.
